The Foundation is the fiduciary sponsor for the Torrey Smith Park. The fund was established to match the donation of former NFL Superbowl Champ Torrey Smith, who as a child, lived in Colonial Beach. Fundraising efforts for the park were spearheaded by Coach Steve Swope and his wife Ann.

As the fiduciary partner, donations toward the park were sent to the Foundation which is a 501(c)3, and disbursed as requested to complete the park located at 401 Dennison Street. The park has a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball court, gazebo, restrooms, and green space for all to enjoy.

 

The Foundation is the fiscal agent for Colonial Beach’s Community Heart and Soul program. Community Heart and Soul is a resident-driven process that engages the entire population of a town in identifying what they love most about their community, what future they want for it, and how to achieve it.

As the fiscal sponsor and a 501(c)3, the Foundation holds the financial donations and funds from grants and disburses monies as requested and needed for the program.
