The Colonial Beach Community Foundation (CBCF) is looking forward to being able to do more to improve the quality of life in and around Colonial Beach! At the March Board meeting, the Directors voted to make a commitment to grow the funds available to support the community by focusing on hiring a paid leadership position. The objective of this commitment is so that the CBCF can reach a $1 million endowment by the end of 2026.
Since its formation in 2005, the CBCF has supported the community with $900,000 in contributions. In order to help with larger needs of the community, the Board has met with other Community Foundations and realized the need to grow funds through an endowment of $1 million to yield more funds to support larger initiatives in the community.
To reach this goal, it has been recommended that the CBCF needs a dedicated paid leader. Since its inception over 15 years ago, the CBCF has been led by an all-volunteer Board along with the support of thousands of volunteer hours, loyal donors, and supporters. The goal for the current Board of Directors is to raise money in a dedicated fund for this position, which initially is targeted for part-time. After two years the position would be funded through contributions, fund raising, and growth of the endowment.
The Foundation is at a turning point and funding at least a paid part-time position is necessary so that we can respond more efficiently and with more financial support to the needs of the community. We can achieve this with your support.
