About Us
The mission of the Colonial Beach Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life for those who live in and around Colonial Beach through collaboration and the powerful, caring nature of community. Our approach is simple -- promote philanthropy and simplify the process of giving.
Our Values
In all we do, we aspire to achieve the following:
Collaboration. We work with individuals, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), nonprofits, businesses, and local government to leverage resources for the common good.
Inclusion. We treat all people with respect and welcome their participation, perspectives, and experiences.
Win-win solutions. We seek effective and innovative solutions to local problems, working with and learning from our collaborators, volunteers, and community members.
High standards and transparency. We expect all who participate in Foundation business to conduct themselves responsibility, maintaining the highest standards of ethics and accountability.
How It Works
The Foundation connects donors, nonprofits, government, NGOs, businesses, community groups, and individuals to serve current and future needs of the people in and around Colonial Beach. We provide leadership by bringing diverse perspectives together to develop community-wide solutions for problems and issues.
We receive financial gifts from individuals, businesses, and organizations, which we place in endowment funds and invest to generate earnings. We coordinate with fund advisers to distribute grants to a variety of community-oriented programs and nonprofit organizations in the Colonial Beach area.

Our Annual Report presents a snapshot of our past-year accomplishments and a brief description of our current-year direction. They are only a few pages long and we encourage you to review them.
COVID-19 limited our outreach somewhat, delaying our annual report. But, we have now caught up with a combined report for 2020 & 2021.

Foundation Friends
Over the past 20 years, the Colonial Beach Community Foundation has been a
driving force for positive change in our community. Thanks to supporters like you,
we’ve been able to improve the quality of life for those who live in and around
Colonial Beach through the collective power of collaboration and giving.
As we continue to grow and adapt to better serve our community, we’re excited to
announce that the Foundation is transitioning from a membership model to a
donor-based model. This change better reflects our true purpose as a
philanthropic organization, allowing us to focus on making the process of giving
simple, impactful, and accessible to all.
We invite you to renew your support, not as a member, but as an active donor and friend who believes in the power of community-driven philanthropy.
